ATCS provided professional site/civil engineering services in the development of a three-story 58,000 sq.ft. multi-use building in Newport News, Va.
We worked closely with the Architect to achieve the owner’s vision and marry the site design to a state of the art building. ATCS prepared a stormwater management feasibility study to weigh the pros and cons of different types of detention facilities. An underground storage system was selected and installed underneath the parking lot in order to maximize parking on the site and satisfy stormwater management requirements dictated by the Virginia Runoff Reduction Method for new development.
A subdivision plat was prepared to divide the site into three parcels including one to be dedicated to the City as new right-of-way and construction documents were prepared that included site layout, grading, utility design, storm drainage calculations, landscaping, lighting, and erosion and sediment control.
