ATCS provided professional engineering services to C + F Enterprises, a storage and shipping facility located in Peninsula Industrial Park, Newport News, Virginia.
The 20.46-acre site was comprised of two parcels with an existing 260,000 sq. ft. building. This project included an 80,000 sq. ft. expansion for merchandise storage and a new truck dock area for deliveries and shipping.
We provided a conceptual layout of the re-development and prepared site development plans, including an extensive demolition plan that required the relocation of existing utilities and storm drain pipes. Site layout, grading & drainage, utility connections, landscaping, lighting, and erosion & sediment control were all part of the construction documents reviewed and approved by the City of Newport News.
A wet extended detention pond was designed to receive stormwater runoff from the new development that satisfied all state stormwater requirements. ATCS prepared a property line vacation plat to combine the two existing parcels into one and also prepared a Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) for the contractor to use during construction.
